about

Kim wrote the first few lines to this song at 4am sat outside on Dartington campus watching the day break. The remainder of the song developed as Jarv wrote the guitar line. It is a song about childhood and how as you grow older your priorities change & it can sometimes be harder to remember to stop & appreciate certain things in life.

lyrics

The clouds remain suspended,
peacefully they watch on
the water stumbles onwards through the rocks.
Eyes closed, arms open
& rose tinted cheeks.
A spotty dress that's been ripped to shreds
from climbing in the trees.

Did you ever play that game
where you spin round, lay on the ground
& feel the earth move all around?

I bear witness as the moon chases the sun away
there's never been a more crystal clear night.
Eyes closed arms wide open
the cold it pinched my cheeks
a hat that barely fits my head
& boots upon my feet.

Did you ever play that game
where you spin round, lay on the ground
& feel the earth move all around?

There's not enough people
who ever stop to think
& there's far too much appreciation
for the wrong thing.
& our lives are conditioned
but it's self inflicted.
Did you ever stop to think?

Did you ever play that game
where you spin round, lay on the ground
& feel the earth move all around?

Did you ever stop to think?
Did you ever stop to think?
