Today my love is off to sea.
He's gone to fight for his own country.
This lad is barely 22
He's strong & brave & just & true

With that smile upon your face
That winning smile
That no-one can replace.

Verse 2
Oh see them marching 1,2,3
Aboard the finest ship you ever shall see.
Do you think he saw me in the crowd
With all those loved ones gathered round.

His ship had set its sail
& he was leaving.
